Match the option to the purchase
Wrapping and bags provide physical presentation your team supplies. Physical greeting cards are products to prepare with the order. Personal text, audio and video messages are a separate experience. Digital gift cards provide Shopify store value for later redemption.
Start with a small selection that fits your eligible products. Exclude items that cannot be wrapped or supplied consistently. Offer add-on products because they complement the gift, and check their availability.
Keep two prices separate
The shopper price is what your store charges for an option. The app subscription and message usage charges are costs billed through Shopify. Changing the shopper message price does not change the app’s usage fee.
For an internal pricing worksheet, record material cost, preparation time multiplied by your labor cost, and the shopper selling price for each physical option. Include app costs when assessing the overall service. This is a planning approach, not a promise of margin.
Check your offer before making it visible
- Add a clear name, description, representative image and shopper price where supported.
- Activate the option and enable its service. Check product exclusions and confirm the storefront price in your store currency.
- Place a test order and ask the fulfillment team to prepare it from the order details.
- If supplies run low, deactivate the option or service for new purchases. Continue to honor gift options already purchased.
What to keep in mind
Your store supplies and fulfills physical extras. Product eligibility, active options and plan access affect what appears. Do not assume that an option’s selling price covers all of your costs.
