Prepare the shipping setup
- Choose Plus and enable multi-address gifting in the merchant app.
- Save the fulfillment mode, eligible products, shipping rates and inventory handling in Multi-address shipping.
- Test the destinations and product quantities you intend to support. Shoppers need a shipping method available for every destination.
- Review each recipient’s shipping, Shopify-calculated taxes, eligible discounts and combined total before checkout.
Keep payment and parcels distinct
For example, a purchase for three people has one combined payment and recipient orders containing the actual products to ship. The payment order is not the product shipment.
Open Multi-address shipping → Orders, find each recipient order and follow its Shopify link. Fulfill there using your normal process and tracking details. Return to the app or buyer tracking page and refresh to review the available status.
Give exceptions an owner
Inventory checks do not reserve stock. Review any shortage or processing issue before promising a dispatch date, and use the documented recovery workflow. Manual product counts need merchant maintenance and are not automatically reduced after payment.
Use the financial summary and purpose-built exports when reconciling the purchase. Simply adding parent and recipient order totals can count the same purchase twice. Review cancellation, refund and store-credit outcomes separately from shipment status.
What to keep in mind
The app’s consolidated order view is read-only. Delivery status depends on the Shopify and carrier data available; some carriers do not report delivery. A test quote does not guarantee stock will remain available after payment.
